• Living on Schwabhäuser

    Straße Gotha (D)

The historic streetscape is being restored. To ensure the diversity typical of an old town district, there is no uniform eaves height; just a rough height rule stipulating three to four full storeys. Looking at the surrounding buildings, it does not appear necessary to specify a roof design, particularly as roof structures cannot be properly seen or experienced from street level anyway. The rooftop terraces option instead offers an actual advantage compared to conventional detached homes. The block sizes are purposely kept small to increase attractiveness through low investment costs and make it easier for young families to enter the market.
