The facility will be specified as a compact gantry, which will combine the refuelling area with a shop, bistro and restaurant under one roof.

  • The shape will incorporate the features of the location and pique the interest of visitors. The unique silhouette of the Fürstenhügel hill is subtracted from the elongated, orthogonal gantry. In this way, the service station building shows a negative image of the hill. The white underside of the roof is lit from below at night. It contrasts with the bronze coloured layered façade panels, giving it a high recognition value. In the exterior, an archaeological adventure path will be laid out from the service station to Leubinger Fürstenhügel. The particular excitement of the archaeological adventure path is in its shaping as a lower-lying, stylised grave.

  • In addition to its purpose as a linking route, the archaeological adventure path functions as an exhibition in the internal and external areas and includes different exhibition modules placed at regular intervals along the route.

The archaeological adventure path ends at a viewing platform, which, like the refuelling and service station, traces the shape of the Leubinger Fürstenhügel and soars over it at the original height of the hill.
