• Bathing beach, Thaler Areal in Hard, Lake Constance

Different levels are created, building on from the existing competition area in Hard.

The first level connects the structural contact points. Two and three-storey buildings are used as streetwalls along the main road.

The second level emphasises the two ports, which are surrounded by the harbour basins. They are covered by a small grove of trees, which are interspersed with clearings. This creates exterior access to existing open spaces, perpetuating the southern string of parks along the lake’s shores.

  • The new, elongated building fulfilling all necessary functions completes the port area as the third level. It forms the gateway between the port, natural pool, lakeside restaurant, boat hire facility and yacht club. All functions are concentrated in one place, livening it up and benefiting from the interaction. The common port loggia pools all the functions, providing the necessary covered areas for the lakeside restaurant, yacht club and events. It acts as the focal point and defines the site, clearly visible from both land and water.
