The town-planning solution is stipulated in the development plan. The only section not to be side-gabled will be the frontage building on the corner of Kürschnergasse and Rupprechtsgasse, where a gable enhances the sense of dominance associated with the building’s unique positioning.

Four town-house units will sit above the commercial space along Kürschnergasse, creating an appropriately small-scale feel. Filigree outdoor staircases will provide access to private courtyard-facing front gardens on top of the ground-floor commercial extension.

  • The frontage building on the corner of Kürschnergasse and Rupprechtsgasse will house smaller, wheelchair-accessible residential units.

The autonomous nature of the townhouse façades is reminiscent of the proportions seen in the historic predecessor buildings, and picks up on the structure used for their windows and doors (if known). A modern feel is generated by the flush-mounted frameless windows, while the sgraffito technique is used to compartmentalise the façade.
