The demolition planned by the owner saw us start promotional activities to preserve the 320 heritage listed apartments in the 1920s complex designed by Hamburg architect, Otto Jacobsen. A public inspection of the quarter highlighted the purpose of this preservation, while the panel discussion provided enlightening information. The exhibit “The North – A demolition” attracted sufficient attention, and the quarter is now known as the Jacobsen-Viertel. The entire residential complex has been sold and restored, and all apartments are now occupied, stabilising the little neighbourhood.
